Accelerated Skills Advancement Program

The Accelerated Skills Advancement Program (ASAP) from First State Ice Hockey is a revolutionary approach to youth hockey player development. ASAP provides intense on-ice training with an individualized focus on skills development to help your player improve their game.

The centerpiece of First State Ice Hockey’s mission to help every youth hockey player in Delaware realize their full potential on the ice, ASAP is designed to give players instruction in a variety of skill areas while focusing on their individual needs and goals.

Each ASAP “term” will consist of an assessment session and four hour-long clinics led by FSIH hockey director Sean Cannon and a number of well-respected hockey players and coaches from throughout the Mid-Atlantic. After the assessment session, players will be grouped with other players of like skill levels (Levels 1, 2 and 3) to maximize their potential for individual development during the clinics.

In addition to a heightened focus on skating, stick handling, passing, shooting, positioning, decision making and execution from skill experts, there will also be strength/conditioning and goalie coaching components for ASAP participants.

The third term is an ASAP Boost term, and will take place from Nov. 8 to Nov. 29 at the Skating Club of Wilmington. The level of individual attention afforded each player’s skill development as a result of a low player-to-coach ratio will help every player work closer to their fullest potential.
