Jr. Blue Hens announce AA coaches

NEWARK, Del. — The Delaware Jr. Blue Hens, in conjunction with First State Ice Hockey, announced Tuesday (May 4) the coaching staff for their AA-level teams at the 14U through 18U age divisions.

Sean Cannon, First State’s hockey director, brings two decades of coaching experience to the Jr. Blue Hens’ top 18U team. Cannon, a New York native whose experience has run the gamut from mites to collegiate hockey, also serves as head coach for the Avon Grove (Pa.) High School varsity hockey team and is a former coach of the Valley Forge Minutemen (Oaks, Pa.) of the Tier 1 Atlantic Youth Hockey League.

Joining Cannon at the helm of the Jr. Blue Hens’ teams are Nick Giusti (16U), Bob Thomas (15U) and Ensley Milton (14U), who will work alongside established JBH coaches Al Gallo (18U), Vince Falkowski (16U) and Chris Mayville (14U). The entire staff boasts high-level playing and coaching experience, and will enhance the Jr. Blue Hens’ product with their mix of skill development, “Hockey IQ” and situational assessment abilities.

Players interested in joining the Jr. Blue Hens teams powered by First State Ice Hockey are encouraged to register via the Jr. Blue Hens website. Evaluations are scheduled for the evenings of Monday, May 10; Wednesday, May 12; and Tuesday, May 18, at the University of Delaware Gold Arena.
